In meeting the 2010 emissions reduction targets jointly set by HKSAR and Guangdong Provincial governments with the aim to reduce the emissions in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) Region, Castle Peak Power Company Limited (CAPCO, a joint venture between CLP Power Hong Kong Limited and ExxonMobil Energy Limited) commenced the Emissions Controls (EC) Retrofit Project with installation of booster over-fire air (BOFA), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and flue gas desulphurization (FGD) plants on all four 680 MW units at Castle Peak Power Station (CPPS) since 2007. The project is one of the largest engineering projects in terms of scale and complexity in Hong Kong over recent years.
On a shower and sunny Friday morning, 3 Aug, over 35 participants visited the Castle Peak Power Station. We are inspired by the enormous construction of the station and we appreciate very much for the great efforts of CLP professionals to stable the electricity supply to the Hong Kong residents. We should participate in the energy savings and value the earth's resources.
We would like to give our sincere thanks for CLP's hospitality to receive the ISSC professional members.
