We are pleased to invite Mr. Simon Cheng, Senior Manager (Training & Development), Hong Kong Hospital Authority as our Keynote Speaker, to share with us on lean in healthcare on Thursday, 22 May 2014.
Simon leads the “Training & Development Team” to offer structured management development curricula, a variety of competency-based training programs and an eLearning platform for 65,000 staff.
Simon has shared with us the followings:
mission and philosophy of employing Lean in Hospital Authority Hong Kong
the lean projects running in Hospital Authority
how to tackle the challenge faced when promoting Lean
We have over 100 participants in the dinner and it was full house. Simon used a lot of day-to-day hospital cases to illustrate how his colleagues in Hospital Authority apply lean to improve healthcare services. The participants learned a lot from Simon and they appreciated much of the sincerity of healthcare practitioners in upholding their service quality.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Simon for his inspiring speech.
We would also like to congratulate the new Certified Six Sigma Black Belts (CSSBB) who have passed the ISSC written exam as well as the oral exam conducted by two examiners (who are the master black belts) of ISSC.
We are pleased to invite our Honorary Advisor, Ir Professor Philip Chan and the Chairman of Shenzen Association for Quality, Mr. Mickey Li, to grant the certificates to the CSSBB.
The Certified Six Sigma Black Belts (CSSBB) are recognized as a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. By meeting the examiners' requirement, the CSSBB should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics and assign team member roles and responsibilities. He or she should have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model in accordance with Six Sigma principles. They have basic knowledge of Lean enterprise concepts, are able to identify non-value-added elements and activities and are able to use specific tools.
Congratulations again to Chan Nga Lee, Fung Cheuk Man, Lam Yu Ching, Ng Sai Keung Derek, and Li Ran.
