ISSC is pleased to hold Asia Quality Management Symposium cum ISSC Annual Dinner on Thursday 10 May 2018 in L'hotel Nina et Convention Center.

AQM Symposium is the flagship ISSC event in 2018.  The theme of the symposium is "Quality Growth Beyond Excellence through Innovation".  The symposium spans from application of QFD, LEAN, TRIZ and Extenics (可拓法) to the exploration of enormous growth opportunities through innovation.  In this symposium, we strongly believe that audiences can gain new insights and inspiration on how to survive in this fast changing century, like a butterfly.  We are honorable to invite the pioneers from different disciplines to speak in this symposium.

It is our pleasure to have Ms. Ada Fung, BBS JP,Former Deputy Director of Housing (Development & Construction), Hong Kong Housing Authority, Dr. Catehrine Chan, teh Founder President, Hong Kong QFD Association, Dr. Victor Lo, Honorary Lecturer of the Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering Department, the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Lotto Lai, the Chairman of Hong Kong Society of Quality & Dr. Wei Pan, Executive Director, Center for Innovation in Construction & Infrastructure Development (CICID), the University of Hong Kong as our speakers. 

There are around 100 participants enrolling the symposium and all of them participated actively in the symposium through frequent questions & answers.

The symposium is followed by Annual Dinner.  The Annual Dinner started with keynote speech with focus on construction industry.  Construction industry has long been critized for low productivity, poor quality and low levels of performance in relation to cost and time overruns.  Lean construction has widely recognized as an effective approach to improve productivity and eliminate production wastes. 

The keynote speech speaker, Dr. Sammy Wan, Past President of the Hong Kong Chapter of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineer explained the application of lean in construction industry, how lean is applied in the construction project cycle, how lean tools can achieve a look ahead schedule and how to apply pull technique to convert the flow of resources from interrupted to uninterrupted with idle and waiting time consequently reduced.

There are over 80 participants in the dinner and we would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Wan for his inspiring speech
